Kim Horwood

Kim graduated from Memorial University of NL in May 2000 with her Bachelor of Commerce (Co-op), concentrating in Industrial Relations. She then went on to law school at the University of New Brunswick where she graduated with her Bachelor of Laws in May 2003. At UNB, Kim was awarded the William Henry Harrison Memorial Shield & Award for achievement at the Moot Court Competition. She has practiced in St. John’s ever since, focusing her practice in the areas of personal injury law, other civil litigation, criminal law, employment law, residential real estate, corporate matters, and wills and estates law. Kim has appeared in the Provincial Court of NL; Supreme Court of NL, Trial Division, both General and Family; as well as the Court of Appeal. Active Member of the Community in Newfoundland & Labrador Kim is a member of the Law Society of NL and the Canadian Bar Association. She was appointed as Chief Adjudicator of the Human Rights Commission Panel of Adjudicators. Kim was also appointed Chair of the Mental Health Care and Treatment Review Board. And she is an Adjudicator on the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Public Complaints Commission Panel of Adjudicators. Outside of the legal community, Kim is the former Chair of the Conservation Corps Newfoundland and Labrador.  She also sits on the Board of Kittiwake Dance Theatre.

Nancy Glover, Paralegal

Nancy has always had a keen interest in the law and wanted to pursue a career in the legal field. Unable to uproot her family while studying, Nancy chose to stay in Newfoundland and pursue a Paralegal career. After receiving her Honours Diploma in Paralegal Studies, Nancy started her career at a larger law firm located in downtown St. John's. After 4 years, she recognized that she wanted to focus her career on helping and interacting with people and not just working for a large corporation. In 2003 she accepted a paralegal position and now works closely with Kim Horwood on all personal injury files. Together they offer a level of service and attention to detail for their clients unlike any other firm in the region. Experienced in Personal Injury Law With more than two decades of legal experience in personal injury law, Nancy has worked on cases in all levels of courts from Small Claims to the Supreme Court of Canada. A Friendly Face & A Helping Hand As a paralegal who has built a successful career path, Nancy assists the lawyers at Horwood Law Group with all aspects of litigation, and works closely with clients throughout the process of their personal injury claims.
